KENNY
NEAL |
|
SEPTEMBER
7th 2010 - 10 PM
Kenny Neal was born in New Orleans and began making music with his father (blues harmonica player Raful Neal) at a young age. Buddy Guy recruited the multi-instrumental "swamp blues guitarist" at the age of 17 and took him on tour as his bassist. After a lot of work and experience, Neal was dubbed
"one of a mere handful of truly inventive young contemporary guitarists" by the
Chicago Tribune. Kenny
Neal is an outstanding talent with a "bright contemporary feel" & "swamp sensibility" that keeps him a part of the who's-who of the blue
scene.

SMOKIN' JOE KUBEK F/BNOIS
KING |
|
SEPTEMBER 16th - 10
PM
Born
in Pennsylvania, but raised in Texas, Joe
Kubek was playing the Dallas
clubs before the age of 15. During the 70's and 80's Kubek honed his
guitar skills playing with the likes of B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie
King, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. In 1989 Kubec was introduced to Bnois King, a
man whose differing, yet potent jazz styling only enhanced Kubek's picking
and sliding blues. Kubec is on the record as saying “I pull the blues
out of him, and he pulls the jazz out of me. Bnois knows so much about
jazz it’s amazing.” As a duo, these two were born to perform live;
bringing their "powerful,
hard-nosed, authentic roadhouse blues…Punchy Texas shuffles, fierce
boogies, tough slow blues and mighty fine roots rock” to audiences night
after night! (Living
