When Robert Kimbrough, Sr was born, the house parties and jam sessions were well underway for his father, legendary bluesman Junior Kimbrough, who turned a Chulahoma, Mississippi church into a blues venue. Kimbrough, Sr grew up steeped in Northern Mississippi traditions of mesmerizing and soulful rhythms, and linked his Cotton Patch Soul Blues style to his father’s legacy.
